We have finalized our hard works in collaboration with partner organizations and posted our project application to Turkish National Agency today, on May 31.
Let’s give some brief information about the training course:
Our training course entitled "Raise Your Voice For Human Rights" to be realized in September 2010, in İstanbul, Türkiye, on the topic of Human Rights Education is designed for youth leaders and youth workers throughout Europe, preferably from Italy, France, Estonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia and Portugal. Our partners have come to the idea that there is a big lack of information and understanding of human rights in the society, so we decided to focus on human rights as an educational tool to fill this gap and also as a new methodology to let some concepts be understood better.
The title “Raise your Voice for Human Rights” means that we want to make Human Rights a concept known by the young people they work with, passing it to their peers functioning as multipliers, teaching mutual respect and understanding. The youth leaders will lead the youngsters and therefore the future society towards a better common understanding and respect to each other.
This course will prepare young people to plan and run youth activities on Human Rights Education especially in the frame of the Youth in Action programme. The project is also directed to establish a bridge among the partners and other organizations active in promoting human rights education and therefore to foster cooperation among those NGOs.
Prospective partners within this project are as follows:
Youth A.R.T., from Turkiye is the host organization.
TDM 2000, from Italy is the promoter partner organization.
Eurocircle, from France; Young Europeans For Security, from Bulgaria; TDM 2000 Estonia, from Estonia; International Friendship League, from Portugal; ACT PLUS Association, from Bulgaria; Organization for Stimulating Civil Activities, from Slovenia are other partners in the project.
Each partner organization will be represented by 3 participants who are preferred to be youth workers and youth leaders actively working in their locals. 4 Italian participants, including a youth trainer will represent TDM 2000. Vacancy for Youth A.R.T. members is 6 in total: 3 participants, 2 support team workers and 1 trainer. Of course, we will be welcoming more Youth A.R.T. members to host this demanding activity.
We have designed a 7-day activity program so as to realize the objectives of the project. You can have a look at the draft program

We think Turkish National Agency will announce the results of the evaluation latest in August. So, we will have about 2 month’s time to prepare for the project. Please, do not hesitate to contact us for any ideas to make this project a big success!
